I plan to add tips for Pre-Design and PE-Design/Palette every month or so, so please check back often (and click your browser's Refresh or Reload button when you return). Below are the first tips about True Type Fonts.
Dutch Translation: De nederlandse versie van deze instructies staat in het Pre-Design forum op http://www.demarlotte.nl/forum/index.php
True Type Fonts
- Click the button below to download the two QuiltBlock True Type fonts (dingbats) I used in some of my tutorials. These fonts are for your own personal use and may not be shared, sold or put up for download on any other website. The fonts are copyrighted by Quiltime.com, who graciously granted me permission to share these fonts with you. Please visit their website www.quiltime.com to see other neat accessories and patterns for quilting.

To install True Type Fonts
- You can install these fonts (and any other font) as follows: download and unzip the file first. Then go to Start > Control Panel > Fonts. In the Windows Fonts folder choose menu File > Install New Font. Choose the right drive and folder where you saved the unzipped fonts. In the Install Fonts dialog window double-click that folder to open it. Then click Select All and OK. This will install the fonts in your Windows Fonts folder and now any program capable of using True Type Fonts will be able to find the fonts. You can use the dingbats directly in Layout & Editing using the Text tool. Or you can turn the fonts into line art using Pre-Design (menu Edit > Insert Text).
To manage your True Type Fonts
- Dingbat fonts are True Type fonts which will show little graphics instead of characters. To manage your True Type Fonts and to know which keyboard stroke brings up which graphic, you can download and install the following freeware program: The Font Thing.
